I know it’s been quiet around here but there’s been a lot going on. Bootcamp restarts in 12 days and I made a promise to myself that I would not waste the progress I gained there. I have some instense work deadlines this week so on Sunday I created a schedule that included exercise, meals, and work. Of course it’s only day 3, but I’ve stuck to it. On Monday I worked 12 hours, ran 2 miles, and ate perfectly healthy. Tuesday was the same but I worked 15 hours. Today is a scheduled exercise rest day and tomorrow I need to fit in an hour of cardio somewhere between a 10:45am doctors appointment, 5 hours at the office, and a 7pm work meeting. I guess I need to hit the gym at around 8am. So be it.

That’s the fastest mile these short legs have ever run!

Sure life is chock full o’stress, but today at bootcamp I improved my mile by 1.32 minutes. That’s right, at 5:45am, I ran a 10:44 minute mile.
FHI Fever!
April 8, 2008 · 2 Comments
Ever since Trish introduced me to her FHI Heat Hair Straightener I’ve been waiting to get one for myself. My hair is very thin and if I let it dry naturally it’s frizzy and and moderately curly in spots. If I blow it out it’s a huge frizzy mess. Also, my hair is so thin I have to wash it every single day. For the past 6 years, I’ve been straighetening my hair with a $40 ceramic straightener (and prior to that a metal plate version). My FHI arrived today and never was I so excited to take a shower and do my hair. The best part is that after I tried Trish’s FHI I was surprised to learn my hair looked just as good the following day. Seriously, I think FHI should pay Trish and I for all the positive PR we’ve been giving them.

subject: Questions about Partnership
Hi [ very expensive attorney ]:
I am sorry to bother you but I am not sure if the attorney that did my original partnership agreement 2-3 years ago is still employed by [firm name]. Can you please direct me to the appropriate person?
A few years ago, [firm name] drafted a partnership agreement for me for a [my companies name]. In addition, [paralegal x] takes care of our filing with the gov’t and state.
In the past 2 months, my business partner [douchebag x] has (embarassingly) disappeared. He doesn’t answer telephone, txt messages or e-mails. I have known and worked with him for many years and I have no idea what is going on, however I cannot get him to communicate with me at all. It’s like something out of a soap opera.
I have a few concerns:
1- He has an outstanding personal balance on his company credit card as well as a company cell phone (his wife also has a cell phone via [my company name]). I know he is still using both of these items regularly as I can check them online. Am I legally allowed to turn off his cell phone or Amex card? He’s missed all recent payments and as stated above is ignoring all communication from me about it.
2- During this timeframe, it’s been business as usual for me. I am working, signing contracts, dealing with clients, taking on new clients, etc. I have no idea how to move forward. I would like to keep the [my firm] name as I have many clients. But I also want to protect myself.
We have a 50/50 partnership agreement, however it occured to me that it was never officially signed. I don’t know how to move forward at all. Any advice?
Thank you,
[me]
Updated to add: Upon advice from the attorney, I called my business partners wife and told her I had been advised to cut the cell phones and the credit card. A few hours later he paid his credit card bill in full.

Bootcamp ends next week and I cannot believe I’ve exercised at 5:30am for the past 3 weeks in a row. I am not yet a 100% convert to the crack ass of dawn workout, but it is growing on me. I am sure that attending the class with my cousin has contributed to my success. In fact, we are currently contemplating signing up for the next session. It will be a vastly different experience as the venue moves from indoor soccer field to an outdoor park. Apparently there is a 1 hour hike each week too. Although I am curious to see my last day measurements, I am infinitely more interested in beating my 1 mile run from the first week. It was 12 minutes, 12 seconds and I think not too shabby for someone who has not run in months and has never run on anything but a treadmill. Without the treadmill to guide me, I had a difficult time setting my pace. For the retest I plan to use my ipod and maybe my heart rate monitor (which doubles as a stop watch). I think one of the pros of bootcamp is that I’m not focusing on the cardio machine digital readouts.
