I have been so very stressed out about work that I am not sleeping well. I go to bed worrying and I wake up worrying. I am hoping things will quiet down early March — but I won’t know till then. In the meantime, I am a ball of nerves.
In good news, It appears the early winter plague has finally left my body. I was floudering a bit to re-find my routine, but that has passed too. On Tuedsay I restocked the kitchen with good for you foods and then on Wednesday I made a double batch of my Cooking Light Cranberry Orange muffins. Although I experimented with blueberries and the muffins are fantastic that way. Also, lunch just doesn’t seem like lunch sans a sandwich. It’s the bread really. However a Hale and Hearty soups opened up nearby, and damn is that restaurant addicitve. They give you oyster crackers, and they are close enough to bread. Apparently you can eat there everyday for 5 months and never eat the same thing too. If it wasn’t so expensive I’d be there every day.

Have you ever watched the AE show Intervention? I just finished watching an alcoholic woman drink an entire liter of mouthwash to get drunk. Mouthwash, seriously. She passed out on the front lawn. Her 3 children watched the whole thing. I’m sitting here crying for and with these families and I’m not even PMSing.

Tim and I are having fried chicken and Texas beef ribs for Valentine’s day. And North Carolina salt peanuts. They are that good. Clearly, Valentine’s day is just an excuse to eat comfort food. Nothing says I love you like collard greens with bacon.
Speaking of comfort, 4 pilils (in 2 days) and I’m feeling better. Almost perfect, actually. Biaxin is some drug.

I had this post in the hopper about how things were returning to normal (even though I just spent an unexpected $1k on my car) but then last night the sore throat started, again. There was also some sexy post nasal drip and a bit of coughing. I had 2 days of feeling better. Just two. Clearly this is a superbug. Well done bug, well done. I decided to be proactive and see my doctor this AM. I really don’t need another 10 day long sick battle. The doctor diagnosed me with a red throat and a fever. She then said my last course of antibiotics (a zpack) clearly wasn’t enough. They also drew some blood, just to rule out some things like fancy strep or whatever. The funniest part is that I casually showed the nurse an oven burn (on my arm). They immediately called in both doctors and put some goop on it and started instructing me about it. Apparently I have a bad 2nd degree ugly burn that isn’t even bothering me. I said to the doctor ‘but it doesnt even hurt!’ He responded with, “a first degree burn hurts more, you fried the nerves here.” I had intended to wax poetic on my blog today, about how tasty and healthy my orange-cranberry muffins are, but obviously they are hazardous to my health. I have the burn to prove it.
